2 More Ways to Get a Relay Team

Every year demand for entry to the lottery outstrips our capacity. If you're among the several hundred people who get a team via the lottery, please do not despair, there are TWO other ways for you to score a team.

Perhaps the easiest way to get a team is to buy it from someone who did get in via the lottery, but now, for whatever reason, isn't planning to use it.  Before you get concerned that buying a team will cost you big bucks, know this: RunVermont prohibits anyone from selling their teams for any more than face value ($120 for two-person team, $185 for a 3-5 person team). A few Team Captains will selling their team now, but the vast majority of teams for sale come up in March and April. So, how do you go about finding someone who no longer wants their team (or who is looking for additional runners)?  Visit RunVermont's message board. Not clear on how the message board works?  See this post for step-by-step instructions!

Perhaps you're not willing to wait around for someone to sell their team.  Or maybe you want a team very badly and you're willing to work to get one.  In that case, we suggest connecting with our Miles for a Mission (M4M) partners and fundraising your way to a team.  Not only will you gain a relay entry, but you will have raised money for an excellent cause and likely made some new friends in the process.  A complete list of our M4M partners and fundraising criteria are available here.

Please let us know if you have any questions about any of these options either by emailing us (info@runvermont.org) or by leaving a comment here.  We're happy to help.
