Winter/Spring 2013 class information:

Marathon/Half Marathon 101
For First Time Marathoners and Half-Marathoners of ALL Levels
This educational course offers many tools including tips on training schedules, nutrition, strength training, proper shoe analysis, mental preparation and more. Class is geared for registered marathon and 2-person relay marathon participants of the KeyBank Vermont City Marathon and Relay; however participants may have another marathon or half marathon event as their goal. Class participants have over a 90% success rate.

Instructor: Jess Cover
Jessica has been running competitively for over 15 years. She has completed 22 marathons with a PR of 3:05.05. This includes eight KeyBank Vermont City Marathons. Jessica is a USATF Level Two Certified Running Coach at ON TRACK Health & Fitness and coaches athletes of all ages and abilities. She also coaches the South Burlington Girls' Cross Country Team, and serves as President of the Green Mountain Athletic Association. Let her help motivate and inspire you.

Schedule
Classes meet on Wednesday evenings.
Class dates: 1/30, 2/6, 2/13, 2/27, 3/13, 3/27, 4/10, 4/24, 5/8 & 5/15.
Time: 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. 
All participants will receive weekly updates from Coach Cover, including weeks when class does not meet in person.

Marathon 201

For Runners Who Have Run One or More Marathons/Half-Marathons
If you have run one or more marathons or half marathons and want to improve any aspect of your training or performance, this course is for you! This 9-week educational course offers various training tools for increasing your running IQ, including: how to improve your training schedule, speed work, race strategies, running physiology, mental preparation, injury prevention and treatment and how to get faster without getting burned out.

Instructor: Sam Davis
Sam Davis has been running competitively for over 37 years. He has completed over 25 marathons (including four KeyBank Vermont Marathons) and countless half marathons and has PR”s of 2:32 and 1:08 respectively. Sam has been a road race director and still continues to volunteer at many athletic events including the Ready, Set, Run and YAM Scram programs. Sam is a USA Track & Field Certified Level 2 Endurance Coach and provides consultation for runners of all ages and abilities.

Class dates are 1/28, 2/11, 2/25, 3/11, 3/25, 4/8, 4/22, 5/6 & 5/20.
