Gear CheckSecured gear check is provided for marathoners and relay participants. Gear check will be available at the north end of
Battery Park from
7:15am- 9:10am. Gear checked at Battery Park will be available for pick-up in Waterfront Park at 9:30am.
Note: Participants MUST use the clear gear check bags provided in your runner bag at Race Packet Pick-Up. NO OTHER BAGS will be checked, NO EXCEPTIONS. Please do not leave bags of any kind unattended. Any items left unattended will be removed immediately and destroyed.
Gear check is intended for race day gear (warm-ups, post-race clothing). Volunteers will tag your bag with your bib number. We promise to take good care of your possessions, but urge you not to check your valuables.
Please claim your gear as soon as possible after you complete the race. At 2:30pm, unclaimed gear will be transferred to the RunVermont office (One Main Street, Suite 304, Burlington). Items not claimed in one week will be donated to charity.

Church Service Race Day, 7:10-7:30am at St. Paul’s Cathedral on the corner of Battery Street and Pearl Street
(1/2 block from the Start Line). This ecumenical service on race day will be a time for prayer and song and asking for blessings for the runners as they challenge themselves and each other in the Marathon. Runners and supporters of all faiths are welcome to attend.
Finish AreaWaterfront ParkOnce you cross the finish line and have your finish line photo taken, Marathon and 2-person relay runners will receive a medal. A volunteer will hand you a foil blanket. bottle of water, chocolate milk/chocolate soymilk, and banana. As you exit the finish area, head north and follow signs to the Reunion Area, Runner's Food Tent, and Gear Check. Marathoners may also visit the Massage Tent in Waterfront Park.
Finisher Certificates As soon as race results are official, your finisher certificate will be available for
download here.
Info Booth/Lost & FoundAn INFO booth is centrally located in Waterfront Park. This is also the location for Lost & Found on race day. In the event that you need to report a missing child, please do so at the INFO booth.
Meeting Family and FriendsMeet family and friends in the alphabetized Reunion Area, located a short walk north of the finish area.
Mile Marker/Clocks Mile marker signs are positioned every mile on the course. Time clocks are positioned at the start, finish and every two miles, as well as the half-way mark.
Music From salsa to classical, mambo to funk, hear great
music along the marathon course.

Burlington YMCA to runners with a KeyBank Vermont City Marathon race bib. The Burlington YMCA is located .7 miles from Waterfront Park at 266 College Street (

This program generously supported by The RunCenter at SkiRack and Mizuno. Each pace group will be led by two pace leaders. Pacers will be identified at the start with signs indicating the goal time and pace. All pace leaders will wear the official Pace Leader jersey. (Sign and jersey images to come!)

Post-race Festivities
The post-race festival begins in Waterfront Park at 10:00 am on race day. Come celebrate at the finish area in Waterfront Park with Lake Champlain and the Adirondacks as a dramatic backdrop. From the Runners’ Food Tent to fare from local vendors, there is plenty to eat for everyone.
There will be a band and those 21 years and older are invited to enjoy a beer (sponsored by Michelob) with your bib; you must have an ID and your bib, no exceptions.
Start Area
Battery Park
The start line is located on Battery Street next to Battery Park. There will be over 4000 runners at the start line so we recommend you give yourself plenty of time to get there. Runners are asked to line up according to race pace. Pace signs will be visible in the start area.
Preferred Start Corral
In order for a marathoner to qualify for the Preferred Corral, you must submit a qualifying time of 3:20:00 or faster (marathon), 1:35:00 or faster (half marathon) or 43:00 or faster (10k) from a USATF Certified Course. Due to our limited staff resources, these are the only distances we will consider for inclusion in the Preferred Corral. The race date must be between January 1, 2011 and April 28, 2013. You may submit a qualifying time at registration or via email anytime prior to May 1, 2013.
Street Closures
Due to the nature of this city-wide event there will be major delays from 7:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on Race Day. Download street closure map.
Timing
Timing services for the KeyBank Vermont City Marathon are provided by Granite State Racing. Marathon participants will be timed using the latest technology available from ChronoTrack. Detailed timing information is available on the KBVCM Timing Page.
Transportation
Hotel Shuttle
KBVCM provides race day shuttle service to and from participating hotels.
Race Day Parking
Free parking is available within a 1/4 mile of the start area. Parking lots are on St. Paul Street, Bank Street and Battery Street. Download parking map and rate information. Please do not park in Waterfront Park, Oakledge Park, or any of the church parking lots.
Burlington by Ferry from Upstate New York
Ferry service dates change annually; please visit Lake Champlain Ferries to check ferry season dates, locations, and schedules.
Burlington International Airport (BTV)
Burlington is serviced by the Burlington International Airport located in South Burlington and just 3.6 miles from the Race Start.
